When I first saw this little gem, I thought WTW (What the What)! It was not until my drink purchase was stuck that I could truly appreciate the ingenuity of the individual who posted said sign. The story is that the individual who posted the sign was tired of frustrated employees hurling obscenities and coffee mugs at the vending machine.
The trick here is to reach through the opening and slide the ruler between the swinging gate as you use it to nudge your purchase until it falls. While you are attempting this feat, there is a wonderful beeping sound. It is almost like an annoying car alarm. I felt as though I were violating the machine. Seriously, who wants to be poked with a stick, or in this case, a ruler? I kept waiting for the vending police to arrive, arrest me and put me on a vending machine violator list. If this happened, does that mean when I move I have to register as a vending violator and who would I register with? Additionally, would I need to avoid all contact with future vending machines?
Seriously, only in Arkansas to do we post signs telling people how to violate vending machines while getting your purchase unstuck!
