Recycling is all in vogue. Little Darling #1's birthday is coming up and we decided to get him a new laptop. So we head to the store with the big yellow price tag. We got a good deal on a new Compaq. Here's when I notice the in-store trade-in program. I'm thinking this is my chance to make Al Gore proud.
The program is for your slightly used electronic devices purchased from the retailer. This only applies to in-store trade-ins. Basically, you can go to their website, key in the information about said trade-in and they will give you an estimate. Sounds like a plan.
Now I know why no one recycles. The estimated value of a 3.5 year old laptop with a non-working battery.....$13.00. Seriously! Look assholes at the yellow tag store, if you want to start saving the friggin' planet offer an incentive.
Let's look at it. The laptop works. No scratches, never dropped (as far as I know), and still works. I'm just going to keep the sucker until it dies or give it away to a charitable organization.
